ALICE COOPER drummer Glen Sobel — whose other credits include Vivian Campbell, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES, SIXX: A.M. and IMPELLITTERI — has posted video of his recent appearance at the Tam Tam Drum Festival in Néris Les Bains, France. The event concluded with late-night set and Sobel joining the French house band for a cover of the DEEP PURPLE classic “Burn” at 3 a.m. in front of a packed house. Sobel also conducted a master class/clinic earlier in the afternoon, followed by a late-night performance where he played to tracks by ALICE COOPER and former MICHAEL JACKSON guitarist Jennifer Batten, whose 1997 album, “Momentum”, Sobel appeared on. Other Tam Tam festival participants included Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez (SANTANA, Stevie Winwood), Dirk Brand (AXXIS), Canadian drum phenom Emmanuelle Caplette, and French standouts Eric Thievon and Nicolas Bastos, among others.
Sobel will be with Alice Cooper and band as they head out next week to Crans-Montana, Switzerland for a headline appearance at the 10-year anniversary edition of the Caprices Festival on March 14.
Cooper will be teaming up with Marilyn Manson for the “Masters Of Madness” tour of the U.S. starting in early June.
