DESDEMON Calls It Quits

New York-based progressive/gothic metallers DESDEMON have officially called it quits. The group says in a statement, “We as a band would like to thank everyone that has supported DESDEMON. With a humble heart, we will no longer continue down this path together. We all mutually feel that through thick and thin, this band has lived its life. Again, we thank you all, past members, fans, and anyone that we have had the pleasure of crossing paths with.”

DESDEMON last year announced the addition of female singer Chelsea Knaack to the group’s ranks.

After a series of auditions, this Minnesota native flew out to New York and recorded DESDEMON‘s most recent album, “Through The Gates”, which came out last summer. The CD featured guest appearances by Tim “Ripper” Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED, BEYOND FEAR), Amanda Somerville (AVANTASIA, SOMERVILLE/KISKE, HDK, EPICA), Sander Gommans (AFTER FOREVER, HDK, SOMERVILLE/KISKE) and Joe Stump (HOLYHELL)
