FAITH OR FEAR Putting Finishing Touches On ‘System Is Armed’ Mini-Album

Reactivated Philadelphia-area ’80s thrash band FAITH OR FEAR is putting the finishing touches on its first new music in 20 years. The group’s new mini-album, “System Is Armed”, features “six massive, foundation-shaking tunes coming your way: five new ones and a special treat,” according to a press release.

“We are all incredibly pleased with the results,” the band states. “This will truly be one of the most powerful FAITH OR FEAR releases ever, [with] Kevin [Hogan; engineer] and band both taking the proper steps to get the first new music from FAITH OR FEAR in 20 years down right!!! [It] will be well worth the wait!”

“System Is Armed” will be mastered in Sacramento, California by Pat Olguin (DEFTONES).

FAITH OR FEAR rose to prominence in the late 1980s after releasing the album “Punishment Area”.

The band, which had started out rehearsing in a chicken coop, went on a national tour, but split up in 1991 without releasing another record.

FAITH OR FEAR‘s original lineup — minus guitarist Merritt Gant — reunited in 2008, playing shows in the Philadelphia area.

“Instruments of Death”, a collection of new material and re-recorded versions of FAITH OR FEAR songs originally written in the mid-’80s, was released in June 2009 via Lost And Found Records. The set also included recordings made in the late ’80s and early ’90s that never saw the light of day. Artwork was created by the acclaimed thrash metal cover artist Ed Repka, who has previously worked with MEGADETH, MISFITS and DEATH, among others.
