FORBIDDEN Guitarist Interviews ‘Occupy Oakland’ Protesters (Video)

The latest installment of FORBIDDEN guitarist Craig Locicero‘s “Omega Wave” video podcast features interviews Locicero conducted with protesters, participants and normal people at “Occupy Oakland”before “hell broke loose” on November 2. Check out the footage below.

What began as peaceful demonstrations in Oakland on November 2 ended with police in riot gear arresting dozens of protesters who smashed shop windows and set fires downtown while shutting down the nation’s fifth-busiest port. Other “Occupy Oakland” activists condemned the violence, which was a departure from the norm.

According to the Associated Press, the “Occupy” protesters say they’re fighting for the “99 percent,” or the vast majority of Americans who do not fall into the wealthiest 1 percent of the population; their causes range from bringing down Wall Street to fighting global warming. The movement gained traction through social media, and protests have taken place in a number of cities nationwide.
