Former SONIC SYNDICATE Drummer Diagnosed With Cancer

Former SONIC SYNDICATE drummer and current WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS frontman Kristoffer “Bäckis” Bäcklund (pictured below) was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Bäcklund‘s WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS bandmates and their friends at Bandit Rock Radio have launched a campaign called “Bandit Mot Cancer” (Bandit Against Cancer), where people can donate money, with all proceeds going to help those suffering from this disease (via the Cancerfonden association).

Commented SONIC SYNDICATE: “Sometimes life just isn’t fair…

“Recently we found out that our very close friend, singer of WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS and former SONIC SYNDICATE drummer, Kristoffer ‘Bäckis’ Bäcklund, was diagnosed with cancer.

“What makes it even more devastating is that Bäckis is one of the most happy and caring individuals we have ever met.

“We all hope he will get well soon.

“We can’t wait to meet up with Bäckis again, and all our thoughts goes out to him and his family.”

Bäcklund played drums on SONIC SYNDICATE‘s debut album, “Eden Fire”, in 2005 before leaving the band in 2006 and being replaced by John Bengtsson.

WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS is a rock/metal band from Falkenberg, Sweden. The group also includes former SONIC SYNDICATE stand-in vocalist and current DEAD BY APRIL singer Christoffer “Stoffe” Andersson on guitar and screaming vocals.
