METALLICA’s HETFIELD, TRUJILLO Talk Baseball On ‘SFG Live’

METALLICA‘s James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo joined “SFG Live” on May 3 at ATT Park in San Francisco, home of baseball’s San Francisco Giants, to discuss Giants starting pitcher Barry Zito jamming with them at the band’s headquarters in San Rafael, California and their connection to baseball and the Bay Area. As preiously reported, members of METALLICA participated in pre-game festivities which included drummer Lars Ulrich throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performing the National Anthem. The custom Giants-themed guitars that were played by the pair were signed immediately following the National Anthem and auctioned off at the Giants Community Clubhouse, with proceeds being shared by the Giants Community Fund and the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

Following recent live dates in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, METALLICA performed on May 2 at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles, where the group was also honored as “Golden Gods.”

The band is also gearing up to headline its second annual Orion Music + More festival, scheduled for June 8-9 in Detroit.
