On Thursday, March 22, QUEEN guitarist Brian May was interviewed by Ryan O’Connor of the South Africa radio station 94.5 Kfm. Subjects covered included music with Kerry Ellis; Adam Lambert and QUEEN; work for animals; Born Free; Virginia McKenna; astrophysicistm; love of collecting 3D stereoscopic cards; along with, of course, the purpose of Brian May and Kerry Ellis‘s visit to South Africa to launch “Pride of Cape Town” with the Born Free Foundation. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.
QUEEN will play two shows with U.S. singer-songwriter, and “American Idol” finalist, Adam Lambert — a special one-off U.K. concert at the Sonisphere festival on July 7; and earlier date at Moscow’s Olympic Arena on June 30. These two shows are the only concerts presently planned for QUEEN and Lambert in 2012.
The potent chemistry between QUEEN and Lambert broke the surface when at the invitation of Brian May and Roger Taylor, Lambert joined them for the closing showcase at the recent MTV Europe Music Awards where QUEEN were present to collect their “Global Icon” award.
