According to The Pulse Of Radio, SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian and JANE’S ADDICTION frontman Perry Farrell both make appearances in a new video from the team at Funny Or Die. The clip is a fake commercial for a fictional reality show called “U B Da Judge”, where celebrities compete to be the next judge on a reality singing competition. In addition to Tankian and Farrell “trying out” for the show, the skit features auditions from Meat Loaf, Rebecca Black, Debbie Gibson, Warren Gand others.
Farrell tries hard to sell himself as the “rocker” component of the show, saying, “You always need the rocker. I don’t see why I couldn’t do what Steven Tyler‘s doing,” before doing his best Tyler impersonation.
Meanwhile, Tankian is much aggressive and makes fun of his own public persona as an activist and social commentator, saying, “The true light beings, past life, do not judge. They ask you for your experience, and they say, ‘Where do you want to go next?’ And you judge! What the fuck?”
JANE’S ADDICTION is wrapping up its Theatre Of The Escapiststour and plays Thursday night (May 31) in Tucson, Arizona.
The group has been touring in support of its first all-new album in more than eight years, “The Great Escape Artist”.
Tankian will release his third solo outing, “Harakiri”, on July 10 and will re-team with SYSTEM OF A DOWN later this summer for an East Coast run with DEFTONES.
