Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N’ ROSES), who is currently working on material for his forthcoming, second solo album, “just finished a session with Mike Clink engineering on a track with [RB singer] Mary J. Blige,” according to a posting on the guitarist’s Facebook page. Slashadds, “Sounds killer!”
It is not presently clear where Slash‘s collaboration with Mary J. Blige will end up.
A mini-reunion of both VELVET REVOLVER and GUNS N’ ROSES will take place on September 13 at the Best Buy Theatre in New York City, when drummer Matt Sorum, bassist Duff McKagan and guitarist Gilby Clarke will all appear at a benefit concert honoring Slash. Sorum, McKagan and Slash played in both bands, while Clarke played with them in GUNS. All proceeds from the event will go to Road To Recovery, a non-profit organization that works with at-risk kids. Tickets for the show are on sale now.
