SOUNDGARDEN Taps DAVE GROHL For ‘By Crooked Steps’ Video

Reunited grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN are filming the official music video for the song “By Crooked Steps” today (Tuesday, December 18) with Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA) at the helm.

“By Crooked Steps” comes off “King Animal”, the first collection of all-new material in 16 years from SOUNDGARDEN, and first since the group reunited in 2010, which sold 83,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 5 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on November 13 via Tom Whalley‘s new record label, a partnership between his Seven Four Entertainment and Republic Records.

Audio snippets of “By Crooked Steps”, along with commentary from SOUNDGARDEN vocalist/guitarist Chris Cornell and drummer Matt Cameron, are available in the YouTube clip below.

The band reunited in 2010 after a 13-year break, releasing a retrospective collection called “Telephantasm” and a concert album titled “Live On I-5″.

SOUNDGARDEN was the musical guest on the November 26 edition ABC-TV‘s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The band performed two songs — “By Crooked Steps” and “Been Away Too Long” — on the show’s outdoor stage in front of a standing-room-only crowd.
