STRYPER, Ex-TNT Singers To Join Forces For ‘Monsters Of Rock Cruise’ Performance

Tony Harnell (TNT, STARBREAKER, WESTWORLD) and Michael Sweet (STRYPER, BOSTON) will join forces for a special performance at the Monsters Of Rock Cruise, which will embark on its second voyage from March 16 to March 20, 2013.

Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this cruise will visit the private island of CocoCay, plus Nassau, Bahamas with a rockin’ bonus day at sea, sailing the emerald waters in this unprecedented floating heavy metal festival.

For one all-inclusive price, fans will enjoy a myriad of special heavy metal concerts, events and activities, designed to please the most discerning rock ‘n’ roll metalhead. While the music is the centerpiece, this is more than a concert cruise event. It is fantasy camp designed for interaction between artists and fans. The fun will begin the moment fans begin to board the beautiful MSC Poesia, meeting new friends poolside during the kickoff Sailaway Concert.

Fan-filmed video footage of Harnell performing the BOSTON classic “More Than A Feeling” with the help of Sweet on May 24 at B.B. King Blues Club Grill in New York City can be seen below.

Harnell opened for STRYPER at the concert and joined the headliners on stage during their set to perform the JUDAS PRIEST classic “Breaking The Law”. Fan-filmed video footage of that performance is also available.

As previously reported, Harnell will guest on the new solo album from Michael Sweet, due later this year on Big3 Records. Harnell will be a special guest vocalist on the song “Taking On The World Tonight”.

Commented Sweet: “I think Tony is truly one of the most underrated singers of all time. He’s always been one of my favorites and is an incredibly nice, humble guy to boot. I’ve always wanted to work with Tony and I knew this would be the perfect song and opportunity to do so. ‘Taking On The World Tonight’ is very heavy with a combination of old-school riffs and solos yet it’s got a very modern, relevant sound as well. It’s the best of both worlds! You won’t be disappointed.”
