SUICIDE SILENCE Drummer Gets Animated For ‘MK Ondergrond’ Interview (Video)

“MK Ondergrond” (meaning “Underground” in Afrikaans) conducted an interview with drummer Alex Lopez of California deathcore masters SUICIDE SILENCE at this year’s Wacken Open Air festival, which took place August 2-4 in Wacken, Germany. You can watch the chat below (Note: The intro is in Afrikaans, but the interview was conducted in English).

“MK Ondergrond” (Facebook page) is South Africa’s first dedicated underground music variety show, hosted by a macabre crew of animated characters, featuring band interviews, video reviews, gig guides and the best in local and international underground music videos.

SUICIDE SILENCE is currently seeking a new label home while continuing to write material for its next album, tentatively due in early 2013.

The band’s latest CD, “The Black Crown”, sold around 14,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 28 on The Billboard 200 chart.

SUICIDE SILENCE‘s previous effort, “No Time To Bleed”, opened with 14,000 units in July 2009 to land at No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart.

“The Black Crown” was released in North America on July 12, 2010 via Century Media Records.
