Dead Press! conducted an interview with drummer Shannon James of Detroit deathsters THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER on July 8 at the U.K. installment of the Sonispherefestival at Knebworth House. You can now watch the chat below.
“Ritual”, the latest studio album from THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, sold 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 31 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band’s previous CD, “Deflorate”, opened with around 12,000 units to enter the chart at No. 43.
Released on June 21 via Metal Blade Records, “Ritual” is a collection of 12 tracks that see the band staying true to their sound and style while progressing in both writing and musicianship. Guitarist Ryan Knight has delivered truly searing leads that will without a doubt daze and lay waste the ears of both loyal BLACK DAHLIA diehards and burgeoning fans alike. Music for “Ritual” was recorded in early 2011 in Detroit, Michigan, with Mark Lewis (DEICIDE, UNEARTH) and the band producing. The vocal-recording sessions and mixing took place at Audiohammer in Sanford, Florida with Jason Suecof (BENEATH THE MASSACRE, JOB FOR A COWBOY, ALL THAT REMAINS) at the helm.
